Create a sacred space

Having a sacred personal space where you can read, meditate, journal, pray or listen to music is key to good self-care. Claim a space in your home for this purpose. It is best to have a room with a door to ensure privacy, but any nook or corner where you can create a sanctuary will do. Surround yourself with meaningful items, pillows, a soft throw, anything that defines peace and comfort for you. Set an expectation with other members of your household that you are not to be disturbed when you are in your sacred space. Secure support from a partner or friend to help reinforce this, if necessary. It is important to have a place to recharge your energy, and you will be modeling good self-care habits for others!
